About Emmaeli Pottery.....

As a beginning potter, in 2015, I wasn't at all certain of where my newfound love of ceramic artistry would take me. Inspired by memories of old vases in my grandmother's home, I began to explore designs from the early 1900's, and the Arts and Crafts movement.   My designs are strongly influenced by potteries such as Rookwood, Roseville, and Newcomb.

The name, Emmaeli, in case you're wondering, is from the combination of the names of my four legged companions - my black lab, Emma, and my old tabby cat, Eli.  I didn't want them to feel left out....

I hope you enjoy what you see here, and that you will visit often!

Thank you for supporting the Local Arts Community, and stay healthy!

I decided to take a break, and take a breath...

As you may have noticed, I haven't updated here for, well, quite a while.

As last year came to a close, I realized that I needed a break. I'd been making, making, making at a frantic pace for most of the last part of the year, in good part to catch up with inventory which I wasn't able to produce after my broken hip in the spring. But with that kind of production mentality, I felt that my creative process had become very mechanical. It lacked the spontaneity of looking at a vase and asking "What do you want to be?" and instead pondering what would sell.

So I took a break this late winter and early spring, to work on other creative projects, mostly painting and decorating my home, and by May I was ready to get back to making pots again!

I'm not disappointed in my results, and hopefully you won't be, either!

My first summer show in 2025 will be in one week, at ART ON THE SQUARE in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin! I'll be in booth # 246, and will have my newest creations there with me!

If you are not able to attend, I will be adding pieces to the website shortly thereafter. (The site will be paused during to show so that I don't accidentally sell something twice!)

I'll be back to making pots in August, and I will be in Minnesota for two shows in the fall - Lakeville Art Festival in September, and Rivertown Art Festival in October.

Thank you for your support in the past, whether it was just admiring my work or actually purchasing it, and for what I hope will be your continued interest going forward!
